New feature: simulated front O2 signal generation

Postby tlcoll1 » Sun Jul 08, 2007 12:28 am

This was a request from Ivan C.

The ECU+ can now generate and output a front O2 signal based upon your wideband's A/F ratio. That is, the ECU+ can now "act like" your front O2 sensor if you have a wideband installed. Two reasons to do this:

1. You can install your wideband O2 sensor in the downpipe "bung" where the front O2 sensor is, thus saving the hassle of welding in a separate bung for the wideband O2 sensor.

2. The ECU+ can now run your car leaner or richer than stock at idle and cruising. Think: (case 1) save gas. Think: (case 2) maybe better idle with extreme setups.

Screen shot below. Just check a box, set your target AFR, wire up a wire, and you're good to go.

(BTW, this is the last of the version 2.10 features.)

Wiring is not needed if one has the plug-and-play wiring harness, correct?

You have to change around 1 wire if I remember right. It's in the manual for sure. I put bullet crimp ends on the wires so I could switch back to the stock sensor if needed.

I don't use this specific function, but the LC-1 has an output specifially for this purpose and I've used it like that for quite a while now. My front 02 is only plugged in for the sake of codes and so it remains heated.
