New feature: fail-safe rev limit

Post by tlcoll1 »

I had some time last night and today, and I've finally implemented a small feature that's been on my TODO list for a while - the fail-safe rev limit. Basically, this lets you lower your stock rev limit by cutting fuel and timing above a certain RPM. This'll be in the next release.

Look for more features in the near future, as I'm finally getting a chance to work on the ECU+ again.

Since you are able to lower the rev limit can you possibly make it so we can raise it?

No-can-do. I can only drop it down from what the stock ECU is set for.

Good stuff Tom, will this be a soft limiter, maybe just backing off the timing?

You can back off the timing with the regular maps. This is a stop-the-engine kind of rev limit.

i think i really need this for my car. i rarely see it, but the stock rev ain't kickin at 7k. i've been pretty close to 8k with everything good, but i'd feel safer if i had some way to stop it somewhere. wouldn't want my crank to spin into oblivion. :)
