Post by Butcher »

Hi
Tom, can you extend RPM range in ECU+ fuel and ignition maps? example to 9000 RPM ?
Good Luck!

That's a big hassle, so I'll say no unless you can really really convince me that it's needed. I've always claimed that the ECU+ uses the 8000 RPM setting when the RPMs are over 8000, but in double-checking that, it instead always uses zero fuel and timing adjustment. That, I'll change for the next release. So now your job is to convince me that you'd need something other than what you're setting at 8000 RPM for values over 8000 RPM.

all simple - i can't control the AFR in range from 8000 till 8500(for now, may be later i use range from 8000 till 9000). So this range, that may give big advantage(in drag racing of course - not street), stay unusable in this case, because my AFR is not under my control.

But if I implemented it such that over 8000 uses the same setting as 8000, you'd be pretty much set. Correct?

Same settings in the stock mitsu ecu . My settings in ecu+ about -20-24% and afr 11.0 . After 8000 a have afr 9-9.5.

Just to be clear, I made the change tonight so that if you rev above 8000 (say 8200), the ECU+ will now use the 8000 RPM fuel and timing adjustment that you configured. Previously, the ECU+ would just set the fuel and timing adjustment to zero (which, in most cases, means you'd then be using the stock (rich) fueling above 8000 RPM).

I believe that this will satisfy pretty much everyone in practice, but re-open the discussion after giving this latest change a try. The change will be in the next v2.10 beta release.
